About
A web studio that tells you the price first
Lark builds websites for established companies in Kelowna and across the Okanagan. Two tiers, every price published, and everything quoted as a product rather than an hour.
Why the prices are public
Hidden pricing is a negotiating position. When an agency waits until it has seen your revenue before it names a number, the number is about you, not about the work. Women who run companies get quoted that way more often and more expensively, and most of them know it.
Publishing every price removes the game. You read the list, you work out what you can spend, and the first conversation is about your business instead of your budget. It also means I cannot quietly charge one client more than another, which keeps me honest on the days I would rather not be.
Why nothing is billed by the hour
An hourly rate punishes the person who is good at the work. Get faster and earn less, or pad the timesheet. Neither one serves you.
So everything here is a product. It has a name, a price, and a list of what is inside it. If a job takes me longer than I expected, that is my problem. If it takes less, that is my reward for having built the same thing many times before.
Who this is for
Women running companies that already work
Most Lark clients are women who own, co-own, or run a business turning over more than half a million a year in the Okanagan. Clinics, trades, studios, producers, professional practices, and shops.
You will get on well here if
- The business works and the website has not kept up.
- You would rather read a price than sit through a discovery call to get one.
- You can name one person who is allowed to say yes.
- You want the thing built properly, once.
- You expect to own everything at the end, because you paid for it.
You will not
- You want the cheapest site available. There are good people who do that work.
- You want to pay in installments after launch with no deposit.
- You want a committee of six to approve every heading.
- You want SEO guarantees, which nobody can honestly give.
- You want somebody who says yes to everything.
Anyone is welcome to hire Lark. This is a statement about who I am best at helping, not a door policy.
The standard
Five things that do not vary
The price is the price
The number you read here is the number you pay. Scope changes get a new number in writing, before anything is built.
You own it all
Code, domain, content, and every account, in your name from the first day. Leaving is easy on purpose.
It has to be fast
Sites are built static and served from the edge. No page builder, no plugin sprawl, no database to break at midnight.
It has to be usable by everyone
Contrast is measured, not guessed. Keyboard navigation is tested. The build fails if the accessibility checks fail.
Say the hard thing
If a cheaper tier will do the job, I say so. If the plan will not work, I say that too, before you have paid for it.
Twenty minutes is all it takes to find out.
Book a call. It ends with a written scope and a fixed price, whether or not you hire me.
